Project Car Bought

Not a mini this time but since I was about 16 and these cars were launched I always wanted one.

Now they are no money at all so decided to bid for one on the bay.

Rover 200 BRM edition.

The one I have bought has just had a reciept for £600 for a full engine rebuild including the modified head gasket and head skim so hopefully it wont go pop for a while.

Bodywork however isnt great so really will need me to strip the whole car and get it painted if I want it perfect.

I will post up some pics soon.
I intend on just keeping it as it will be a long slow process over the winter.

Sounds a fantastic car, how many were made ?

I like the orange air vents and that retro red diamond stitched leather seats & trim...make sure you've plenty of time and easiest of all enjoy.

I believe there was 795 made and the members forum esstimates around 140 with air con.
Mine has air con.

The club contacted DVLA last year and there was still 450 on the road then. There will be less now as folk keep breaking them on ebay as the interiors go for big money as do the front bumpers and also the limited slip diffs as young lads want the bits for their MGZRs.
