Hello all, this site was recommended for me to try as i'm fed up of the sluggish mess thats the MINI2 forum already.
I'm off to collect our 1st new mini today. Owned a few old ones before including 1275gt's and a wild mg metro/1000 gearboxed car but no new models.

I'm getting an R56 Mini Cooper S and I don't expect it will be too long before i'm trying to mod it!. My last car was a 330ci BMW coupe so I will be trying to get the mini power a bit nearer to the 200bhp mark.

Thanks for the welcomes guys. I have my mitts on her now. 1st impressions after coming from the 3 series are that its quicker than I thought it would be, nice sharp steering and handling. Only thing my not liking is the runflats noise, can normal tyres be fitted instead?.

Yes non runflats can be fitted.
Difference is instantly noticable plus standards are cheaper ;)

When i lived in the UK we had a 330Ci then the old style M3 and then the new V8 version, was always happy to get back in my mini :thumbs up:

Welcome ! My last car 730sport --limo comfort ? My son had a new M5 - I found it to be ferociously fast but very hard on the bones ? I am also tempted to change the runflats.

Love the redwood lounge leather! It's growing on me with Sparkling silver too, seen a couple around in that combination..

Like everybody else has said.. ditch the runflats!! :thumbs up:

after just doing the Highland tour (some spirited driving included) I can concur that the runflats aren't the best, car was very jittery in the wet at high speeds leading to a few sweaty palm moments for sure, think I'll be swapping these out for Standard tyres once I have a fair wear out of these
