It's waterproof up to 3M, so you'll be fine as long as you don't fall off and sink in the Gulf.:lol: It also has some basic video capture and format altering software in the ROM of the camera, so as soon as you hook it up to your PC it asks if you want to download the software from the camera.... Never lose the discs. lol
