Yes I think it is worth it and yes the car tells you when your next service is due. Some are mileage dependant others a date. These do change depending on how hard you drive the car though.
For the mileage one you have to get it done within 1000 miles of when it says.

Has tlc gone up again? Even at 250 it is worth having. Try and get them to include it in the deal or get a discount.

I think it was £195 before was it not? I think it's definitely worth it, and you'll find that nearly all Mini's come with the TLC pack as its such a good deal!

I'd consider extra oil changes between the scheduled services, especially if you drive a lot of stop start routes and even more so if your driving style shows that you exceed a year between changes.

^^ As Gismo says, if you're driving a performance car it's foolish IMO to leave the same oil in for 15k or whatever the service intervals are.
Use the TLC for the free changes, but get extra ones done every 5k or a year, whichever is soonest. Doesn't cost much to keep your engine protected

i was 249 quid for the tlc on my wifes mini one diesel,18k service intervals or 2 years, the tlc services the car at 2years ,then 3 years and then at 5 years if the mileage isnt up first.this is better as the first tlc package wasnt done if u had low mileage,as i had missed out with a service the last mini and was told the car was 2 low mileage and there was nothing i could do about it

I have 8 months old honda civic 2900 miles that had 3 years free serviceing bought sept 2010 ,which I have traded in for new mini cooper as you see I dont keep my cars long ..I dont think I will own the mini for more than 1 year.....the last mini I owned was new in sept 2007 sold december 2007 600 miles on it....so maybe a waist of money for me.....

Things have changed then. With my tlc you get 2 services and a brake fluid change.
