well after getting back into minis things arnt going to well bought a beautiful r53 works amaz spec full history and the engine has officially went bang

was rattlling took it to aw autotech not good as they wouldnt even look at , anyway got it dropped off, went to put it on the drive and bang !!!!

no2 cyclinder has let go spark plug is damaged so i guess full rebuild ohh ****t ££££££££

sooo hoping i can get Craig to have a looksy or on the look out for a recon works s engine if there is any about , will keep ya posted

Block might be ok, it's a solid (heavy) lump of iron. May get away with new pistons and a head, but there's engines at breakers, generally under £1k.

Not heard of no.2 going, it's no.4 I've heard of going a couple of times - it's the cylinder that gets the least cooling, and if it runs lean then pop.....

How long you had the car? Do you have any recourse with the seller if you've owned it less than 30 days?
