I am pleased to announce that the New MINI Show 2011 will be taking place on 2nd October at the ACC Liverpool (Echo Arena), Liverpool waterfront.
After a great 2010 show, we have a brand new venue right on Liverpools world famous waterfront. The venue hosted the MTV music awards & is surrounded by hotels, restaurants & shops.

Anybody got a hotel in mind for this ? it was good last year most people together.

Craig
17th August 2011, 11:11 AM
Is someone organising this? Lots of replies saying people are interested but nobody taking the bull by the horns!?!?

I would think hotels need to be sorted soon if folks are going.... If I don't go then someone can get the banner and flags etc from me ;)

I still quite fancy the trip down as it was a good laugh last year ;)

Craig
18th August 2011, 08:36 AM
Ok, I have had the offer of a vehicle (thanks Mom and Dad ;) ) so I'm going to take this on....

It would appear that most of the cheaper hotels in the centre of Liverpool have already been booked up, so I'm not sure we will all be able to get into the same hotel near the venue like last year.. I don't really want to be miles away from the venue because A) hopefully we can get the cars in overnight again and B) the meal the night before is taking place effectively yards from where we are staying which is very convenient ;)

So can I please get definites from people who are going....
Have you bought your tickets?
Have you booked a hotel and if so, what one.

I'm thinking of the Staybridge Suites, mostly due to location and also they do king size beds, plus a bit of luxury never hurt Mrs D ;) plus they still have availability :yes nod:

Craig, thanks for taking this on. We are defo going and it looks like it will have to be the Staybridge Suites for the Saturday night, as the Ibis, Jurys, Premier, and HI Express had no availability when I looked up earlier. If we can't put cars in the show area, we will have to go in multi-storey on the Quay as none of the hotels have private parking. Think all the multi storey have camera security.
Was thinking about stopping in maybe Keswick on the Sunday night, but haven't decided for defo yet.
Hopefully we can a lot more than 3 cars on the stand?

yeah the Staybridge says it has parking, but not sure where - it does mention it is secure...

We will have to come back up the road on the Sunday as Jude has school in the morning... ;)

yeah, hope we get more than 3, but I think some of our young northerners are coming, so should be fine. :yes nod:

One wee comment from a pic above is that you should have dressed under the plastic arches. Paint has a great shine though

weefossy
3rd October 2011, 01:37 PM
Ian it was so difficult. Arches were clean on Friday, got wet and dirty going down the road. We went to a jet wash in Liverpool, but it was still raining a bit until we got into the covered car park. Then there wasn't any water facilities, so we cleaned them again with detailer, but we were frightened we would do more damage than good. And to cap it all, it was raining again on the Sunday morning when we went from the car park to the show. Arches didn't stand a chance, think that's why judges probably discounted them.
Of course I could say Rob only won because we didn't enter....lol.
The boy done good

Big thanks to Mikey for organising a terrific show, at such a fab venue. The whole Dockland area is beautiful. How come we don't have an arena to match that in Edinburgh.
