:ragin::ragin::ragin::ragin::ragin::ragin::ragin:: ragin:

Some place to air your rage and anger. NM has one, why not here and I’ve got reason to start..:frown:

Basically did not know what I was doing with the car so kept putting off getting front tyres to the point they were just above 2MM. Anyway decided as so much was changing on the Mini with new cars and new engines to lay off and keep the car.

So off went the RF and on went four new Uniroyal normal tyres, all’s well tyres feel so much better on the car so was pleased end of December. :thumbs up:

Got round to actually giving the Car its first real wash since the tyres were put on and what a mess (I mean this in a anal way that I hate the slightest thing wrong with the car;)) There is two chips out the paint, one noticeable close up at the (weight) deep scratches round a quarter of the alloy just under the lip/ Edge and light starches on the front that I hope will polish out.:ragin:

So raging that some arse can’t put on new tyres without damaging them, they had no damage at all the near three years I’ve had the car and an hour and a half later in someones care they cant take care. I expected the odd mark round the old weights but this is not what I expected. :frown:

I always remember Malcolm on the HT when he damaged one of his alloys on the WC50, saying the car was there to be enjoyed and its bound to take the odd nock. I Think it’s the way to be, don’t get too annoyed, there is worse things in life, its only a car but for a few hours I was a bit pissed.

Aaaaaaaaaaaa There that feels better shared :thumbs up:

Feeling your pain mate I have a few bits on the paint on mine including that dent on the bonnet (now under a stripe) One of the downsides to buying a brand new car is that you do notice every scratch or chip that is put on.

Are the scratches on the paintwork you are on about and if so you got a polisher to get them out?

Nope everything was on the Alloys from when it got the new tyres. Did not notice anything else so thats a plus point on the actual car...

That's something. I remember getting a puncture repair on one of my tyres when I had the Team dynamic wheels on my MCS. When I got the car back had a quick glance and everything seemed ok. About 3 or 4 days later I was cleaning the car and noticed that the face of the alloy had scratches all the way round like the wheel had been laid down on it's face.

Raging I called the garage and all I got was no it wasn't us, a short time later as you know I got them all refurbished.

Gits !! :frown: that's why I always use the same place every time for my wheels and tyres... They always balance them perfectly and never damage them. The last few times I've had tyres fitted to refurbished wheels and they weren't damaged I bunged the fitter a tenner for taking care :thumbs up: it works ;)

Good to know craig, next time I change my tyres I'll be going there then.

I can relate to this thread...power steering problems hopefully fixed, but I'm now £600 lighter in the pocket. Took it to a local garage that specialises in problem diagnostics with BMW's as I just couldnt take it to JC's. Just as well I didn't as the electric steering pump was faulty. Part was £350 that they got from JC's but labour was only £52 x 4 hours so I'd hate to think how much this would of cost me had I taken it to JC's at what £90 an hour for labour plus the part?

The guy at the garage said if it were him, he'd be pretty hacked off that the pump had gone after only 4 years, and would of been chasing Mini for it, but had I done that, and Mini said no to my complaints, I'd of been really out of pocket because I'd have to have taken it to JC's for them to listen so the costs would of been through the roof. Still, hopefully the car is now all fixed up and get it back today!!

....AAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!! Hey your right Stewart, that really does help lol!

Well I hadn't received my retention cert from Eastern for the mini I gave to them so I chased them the other day, plus they were to send me the road tax that was left on the car. Envelope arrived today and no road tax in it and the date on the retention cert? 22nd Feb so they have been sitting on it for over a month !!!!! :ragin: :ragin:

Not happy at all, letter of complaint going in...... I thought my troubles with mini dealers would have stopped once I didn't have one

Times like these when you think "Great" Britain's a contravention of the Trade Descriptions Act...

Pity about the passage of time between getting the tyres fitted and noticing the damage Stewart. It's very easy not to spot stuff like that at the time. I suppose that's a wee lesson to us all... have a really good look before you drive it home.

Without doubt Euan!! I did forget to say Stewart I had a similar experience with a tyre garage damaging my rims, but then this was the same garage that had a sign saying "It is your responsibility to ensure that all nuts are tight on all wheels when your car is returned, as 'said garage' will not be held responsable for any damage caused by lose nuts or wheels coming off!" behind the reception desk. Should have walked when I seen that really!!

Don’t like the sound of “ "It is your responsibility to ensure that all nuts are tight on all wheels when your car is returned" :frown:

I bet if you asked for use of their tools to check there would be a health & safety issue of an uninsured unqualified person handling tools on the premises.

Why do Power Company’s love to put you on there standared Tariff and take you off the better tariff that you were on………….Just got a nice email saying basically cheers for being on our cheap tariff but as of May we would like to remind you that we would like to move you back onto our standard tariff:ragin:, so you don’t have to do anything at all we will do it all for you.You then follow the link thats small at the bottom of the email ( if you would like to see our range of tariffs) and its not the best one….

So E-mail sent asking why would I want to be on the standard tariff when you have a better one on offer that is cheaper….every other call to the house these days is either do you have cavity insulation or would you like to save money on your gas or Electricity.

Its the older generation I feel sorry for as the tarriffs all have fancy names that mean nothing to them. I'm sure the 70+ are going to take the (Websaver II)

Cold calls have to be treated like fun. I'll expand think of each one as a way off getting back.

If say an Asian gentleman calls start talking with an Asian accent. Or pretend to be a Ned from the port. I once talked to this guy for 10 minutes about a conservatory then I asked him how the planning permission went for these on 2nd floor flats.

Seriously there's a world of fun to be had.

One time this guy called and I pretended like I was the big man (chewin the fat) and got angry with him you know as the big man would. Eventually after giving the guy some big man abuse I hung up, funny thing was he called back saying how rude I was hanging up.

I like the Big Man Idea...." Here you the Big man will come round your hooose with his Chibb and redecorate the place son, are you get the Big Mans point of View son"

Better than the Cold caller to your Door with the line after you say

"it's ok I'm happy with my supplier"

"So your not wanting to save money then" in that condescending way they do...

Its the only time I've said feck off  to someone at the door and shut it.

I still cannot believe you went looking for a deer to hit, just to have a wee dent in your bonnet fixed by your insurance...shocking eh! Only joking mate, I dunno how your coping, when my Mini was in the garage for 3 days with the steering problem, I was crawling the walls, even though I had no where to drive, or no need for it, just it not sitting outside was making me mad.

On another note, seems we're in the frustration thead....AAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH BLOODY EXAMS!!! Anyone else in this boat?

First one coming up on Monday, last one on Friday next week. And to make matters worse, Kirsten has her last ever exam at Uni tomorrow, so I have to endure another week in the library while she starts her new job and starts getting a decent wage...not fair lol!
