Are the mini one's any good? Watch out for scratches to the screen, I've got one of the older models and they scratch really easily.

The minis are a lot more scratch proof! I had one of the original iPods with the scroll wheel and it was more resistent to scratches than my present 40GB one.

The button layout is much better on the minis too. I might have to buy one of the new iPods with the new layout!

Well I'm really impressed by it so far, I also have a 3rd generation 20GB iPod which seems huge and heavy by comparison.

Anyway this wee mini one is not for me but Pat , its a surprise pressie so don't tell her anyone.:)

Not that I have been playing with it mind, just charging the batteries and loading the music;)

Has anyone tried downloading music yet? I downloaded a track from itunes website the other day. The music is in AAC format which means you can't play it in a Car MP3 player. Kind of frustrating as I don't always want to take the I-Pod with me.

Is anyone aware of a way to convert AAC to MP3 or even WMA?????

GAJ, I forgot to mention I'm using a PC not Apple, looks like the Encoder won't work with Protected AAC even on a MAC.

And before any of you Macits make any comments the only reason I have a PC rather than a Mac is it's a works machine. If it was my own money I'd have a Mac.........
