Hi,

Just ordered up some nice new vinyl for my cooper from Signmyride, hoping to spend the day on the 24th getting the car all polished up and start wrapping some panels (weather dependent)

Decided to go with
1. A Panel - Solid White
2. Scuttle Panel - Solid White
3. Rear Aero bumper inserts - Carbon Fibre

Also going to try and wrap my chrome spots in black vinyl - The chrome is past it's best!!

Pictures as soon as i can!!

Well, got the vinyl fitted on Thursday, and boy was it a beach to fit that scuttle panel!!!:ragin:

Anyway, pretty pleased with myself and the results, :thumbs up: it's changed the whole look of the car, just in two minds now if the bonnet stripes should be removed - Let me know your thoughts, i'm thinking yes, it would make the car look far cleaner!

Sorry, these pics are not my best, the car (to my shame) wasn't washed yesterday, i only hosed it down as i had little time yesterday to do a full clean - So Blue is a little dirty!!

Got some plans for the side indicator grills and lenses, and also need my spots transforming to black!

I am not a fan of this mod in general I don't like the a panel wrap, but, of all the times I have seen this done this is probably my favorite. It looks like you've done a good job would love to see it close up and in the metal so to speak.

The vinyl has certainly changed the whole look of your car and actually the more I look at it the more I think I like it mate. What about white wheels too?

Well done. :thumbs up:

The pictures don't do it justice, it looks way better when you see it with your own eyes!

Not normally a fan but think looks good. Have you thought of wrapping the window A frame (think that's what's it called) in White to link the a panel to the roof.

Stripes have yet to come off, i think it will look far cleaner - Plus the car needs polished!!!

Guess i'm going to have to come on a run, to show you all what it really looks like!!

Mmm, don't know about wrapping the window pillars - may be an idea, i'll give it a go in photoshop first

I think if you wrap the A panel, you have to now put something on it, because it's a little plain y'know? Perhaps a logo of some sort, or maybe some additional decals on top of it? It's a good start non the less.

- And bonnet stripes have to come off!!

Stripes are off, and what a difference - the Coop looks far cleaner and the blue / white flows a lot better!!

Still a load of work to go, sorting out the ride height, spots either to be changed to black or removed completely amongst other things!!

Also pictured is the new carbon fibre vinyl in the rear aero bumper insterts!

Stripes off definitely looks soooooo much better! Totally agree that the spots now have to become black!! If I took away my spots now, I wouldn't be able to cope. Driving on a dark country road with them is awesome, then driving without them is a bit meh!!

Can't believe what a difference taking the stripes off made - that's one of the nicest Coop's I've seen. Well done.

Thanks for all the comments, looks like the pressure's on to put spots back on the car!!!

Originally, my plans were to either paint or wrap the existing spots black, the spots i believe to be original, which would make them around 7 years old, i knew the chrome was peeling and there was a good amount of corrosion on the bottom and back. However when i started to remove them, the problems were far worse than i had initially thought!
The entire back of the spot shell was in really poor condition, the chrome bracket fittings, which secured the spot to the black grill bracket were too far gone to rescue, and the spots were a nightmare to get off, i ended up having to cut the wiring before it went through the grill, and take the brackets off with the spots attached which meant having to bend the bracket to fit it through the hole, no amount of WD40 or heat would of helped, as the spot shell has a hollow threaded rod securing it to the bracket, which is then fastened with a nut, well the whole thing was spinning, and there was nothing on the thread rod to grip!!

When i removed the spots, i thought hey, that actually doesn't look too bad, its very clean looking, which is what i am aiming for!
I am covering the original aero grill with a tighter black mesh, covering the spot holes, which i think will clean it up more (i'm too tight to buy a new one, plus i want something different to everyone else!!) - This will then allow me the option of trimming the mesh back to reveal the existing holes, so i can fit black spots instead!! I'll wait and see what the mesh looks like first!

However you may all be right, spots may have to be part of the car again!

Yeah the chrome spots can get in some mess!

At the end of the day it's your car, so you should do what you want, that's what makes them all so individual. :yes nod:

I agree with colin, Its your motor mate an you make it look the way you like it.

Like you say, once the holes in the grille are covered it will prob look alot better :thumbs up:
