I am sure it's been touched on before but to get a disscussion going I thought I'd try this.

You have the chance to go out for dinner with 3 people, from anytime in history or in the present day who would they be, why would you take them and what do you recon you would talk about.

Ok I'll start.

1. Mr John Cooper.

As a lover of all that is mini I'd love to chat with the man himself, especially to ask his opinion on the Mini brand and how it has developed into the global image today.

2. My grandad.

Ok a harder one to explain but my grandad died when I was 4 or 5 and from memory he was an amazing man, would love to discuss anything with him.

3. Ayrton Senna.

The man was just amazing what could you not talk about with him. Might need to learn to speak Spanish though.

I had a hundred more and forgot thousands no doubt, be really interesting to hear others thoughts on this.

Ok dok, as you say, there are literally thousnads to choose from, so, in no specific order:-

1) David Bowie - My musical hero since i were a young lad, i'd like to ask him about his rise from obscurity to the mega star he now is and to also ask him for a personal autograph.

2) Billy Connolly - Would like to quiz him about his travels and specifically to ask what went on in the background, the things you don't get to see on TV.

3) Valentino Rossi - An amazing talent, just happy to listen to his talk of motorbike racing

Good choices Alan, especially Billy connelly you'd never stop laughing. It's actually a good point a comedian would be a good person to have. I have to say I find Peter Kay hilarious or Kevin bridges somebody like that. On a musical note elvis was up there for me think he could be very funny too. Like you say the list would be endless.

This is easy......

1. Megan Fox - I'd love to discuss the transformer movies, ahem.

2. Cameron Diaz - I would ask her about her Top Gear appearance......

3. Nicole Scherzinger - I would try to find out what the hell she likes about Lewis Hamilton :idunno:.

Well that certainly brightened up my day thinking about that dinner date .

This might be a bit geeky but here goes.

John Williams ( American Composer) who did the musical scores for most of the greats in my life. This guy is responsible to the sound track to about every great movie out there, Star Wars, Riders of the Lost Ark, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Superman, Saving Private Ryan, Jaws.

Stephen Fry, Well if he would not get the conversation going then no one would.

Jeremy Clarkson, I’d love to listen to his wild inside story’s of the motor industry and everything that is the package that is JC.

PS Kylie Minogue is the back up if John Williams could not make it.

Dinner to be held in a very expensive Michelin star restaurant overlooking Sydney Harbor Bridge at the stroke of the new-year!

I did try to stay away from people who have passed as lets face it we would fill all three other seats with loved ones we have lost, some we knew some we never got to.

Hmmmmm, tough one! I'd have to go for:

Jackie Stewart - I remember that episode on TG when he 'taught' James how to drive, and he just seemed like a truely interesting guy, and a decent guy at that.

Eddie Izzard - I think he is a very under rated person and comedian. I mean he does his show in 3 languages and ran 40 marathons...incredible.

Nicole Scherzinger - Purely for some eye candy because she is smoking!!

Great choice with Nicole but she's at my table so tough luck mate :moonie:.

I actually had lunch with Jackie Stewart's son Paul many years ago (a business thing) when he was running Stewart Racing - he was pretty good company too.
