Craig warned me not to get a pre facelift, I ignored this advice and now have the below faults that I'll be asking MINI's help with soon to remedy;

1. Top end rattle on start up (goes in a few minutes).
2. Rattle under acceleration, possibly from driver's side of engine.
3. Squeak from back of engine area under application of power.
4. Engine moves about a bit (might be linked to above squeaking, engine mount?)
5. Automatic headlamp levellers seem to freeze in the up position sometimes.
6. Rear wash wipe is now a wipe only.
7. Hesitates when cold under acceleration.

Still love the car to bits though!

7. Hesitates when cold under acceleration.

Mine used to do this alot, It was a real pain when the car was cold. Just no power on initial accelaration. Just hope the new engine does not do the same.

OMG John you & cars ... Maybe it's those wheels that are causing all the trouble. If you want a job done I've a contact that might be able to assist with some if not all your problems .. Just let me know .. Hope you get it all coveted under warranty though !!

Sounds like the timing chain tensioner is one of the problems. Also get your ECU flashed with the 2005 map, should sort the hesitation issues

I thought that was only on the R56 models?

Timing chain tensioner is probably the most common fault on R53's, after the power steering.
