Guys , just wondering , im getting confused, What bumpers will fit my car, a 2002 cooper.

Maybe come time i will change out my bumpers for somthing a bit nicer.

Mine is the R50, so do i need R53 cooper s bumpers?

I you could give me date ranges too that would be great please.

By far the best choice, in my humble opinion, are the aero kit bumpers :thumbs up:
You can fit a Cooper S front bumper with no modification, but, the rear is more of a challenge due to the S exhaust exit being in the middle of the bumper, i'm sure, but seek further advice, you can change the black trim to accomodate the change, or, fit an S exhaust to match an S bumper.

ive read a few things and seemingly the black trim at the bottom can be swapped.

would you know what dates of car can i take them off.

As Alan has said you can fit S bumpers to your car. Just the black plastic trim on the back needs swapped over if your keeping the cooper exhaust. The front bumper won't fit until you have moved the fog lamps to suit (from memory the have to be lower and further out). There are markings on the plastic so fairly easy to do ;)

As for age - they are all interchangeable up to 56 plate cars ;)

So would they be R56 bumpers, or is that completly different again

Sorry for the dumb questions

Thank you guys:thumbs up:

That's different. The R50/53 were made up to 56 plate cars, then the model changed to the R56. The bumpers aren't interchangeable between the good looking models and the R56

Aerokit was my preferred option :thumbs up:

Just be aware that the AeroKit 'S' rear bumper won't fit unless you get an S or other centre exit exhaust... it doesn't have the black plastif part to swap over.. :thumbs up:

If you go the Aerokit route it'll have to be a non-'S' rear bumper :thumbs up:

Just done this to mine today! Changed my Cooper front bumper for the Cooper S on my equally good looking R56  It does make a huge difference. I would have liked an aero kit but dont have the funds at the moment so this is a good compromise. I've not got the back one done yet as I'm still trying to find out how easy it is to put a Cooper S exhaust on my Cooper. Then I'll get hubby to do that too!
