Remove mirror caps WITHOUT breaking the clips or is it impossible ! :lol:

gently does it craig, i've removed loads and the best method I have found is a butter knife, starting from underneath the cap, slide in and prise gently away, or was your question rhetorical. :lol:

Allan has managed to change mines several times without any problems, but I won't offer his help as sods law he would break yours.

Get a friend to help - one presses the cap as hard as they can back on the the mount to give as much play on the clips as poss, while you prize the cap of. I wouldn't use any implements though or you may damage the paint on the edge.
No guarantees though!

Craig when changing mine, I remove the glass as there is I clip you won't reach with any sort of thin item, be very careful and patient though.

Some little vandal managed to pull mine off without breaking the clips (found it in one perfect piece next to the car). If I see them I'll be sure to ask :thumbs up:.
In all honesty it is possible, but not sure how.

R56 caps are just squeeze and pull off where R50 is unclip
