What did I think of it:confused::confused:
Honestly if this came out a few years ago when our children
were younger I would have had one on order. Why not, if your after a 5 door
car you could do a lot worse, it will be well made and you can take it to MINI shows.
Like the clubman (I didn't like it when it was released, but likey now) it will grow on
people, right colour spec and a nice set of wheels and people may change there opinions.
Will I buy one ???????????
In a couple of years when I go to change the merc I would :thumbs up::thumbs up:
It could be my tow car for taking the real countryman to shows faaaaaaaaaaaaar away:laugh: a good specced S 4x4 in white:yes nod:
It will not be a common as the Nissan Qashqai or as ugly as an X1, and it's cheaper than a Q5, so there you go :thumbs up: be different get a MINI any MINI as long as it has a MINI badge you will be fine.
Thank god we all don't like the same things:laugh: life would be rather boring and we
would all be driving arround in that BUGATTI VEYRON SS:thumbs up: (from last weeks TOP GEAR)

After seeing the countryman at Phoinex on Friday I quite like it. Only thing I dident like was the handbrake and where they had put the USB and the AUX IN ( right under neath the handbrake where the world and there granny can see it)

Thanks Billy for putting up the wonderfull pictures of "Woody", got Sioban druling again. :yes nod:
As for the new Coutryman, can't take to it at all. I liked the Clubman, which to me was more like the original countryman, but the new one is much too high. Can't see the point of these mini off roaders. Why didn't they give the WC50 4 wheel drive, imagine the grip that would have:thud:

Billy - LOVE YOUR COUNTRYMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you're ever going to part with it (you're not that daft!), give me a shout. I used to drive my Mum's '78/9 Clubbie Estate and it was such a cracking wee car - really practical too....Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh memories.... can't beat a 'Woody' though. Love the wheels and hubcaps - are they Cooper S steels, or am I wrong? What running gear do you have, is it standard, or 'tweaked'? It's great either way.
As for the new car..... well, it might grow on me, but IMHO it's 'grown' quite enough as it is. It's certainly a practical bit of kit, but whether it can be classed as a 'MINI' is still a 'Topic for Discussion'... the jury's out on that one. Unlike the Clubman, which is still very recognisably a MINI.
In black this looks like it needs an illuminated 'For Hire' sign on the roof, and you'd have to do 'The Knowledge' as opposed to switch on the SatNav. "TAAAAAAAAAAAAAXXXIIIIIIIIIII!!!"

I've yet to see the new one in the flesh but those pictures of the original against the new makes the new one seem even more hideous!
The original is fantastic and deserves to be lovingly cared for.

Re my previous comments on the new Countryman.......after seeing the following picture I may have to eat my words. Think the spots on the front totally change the look.
Could this be the supercar you are looking for Euan, if they make a road version. wonder what the cost would be?

You may not allowed to drive that on the road, are those lights not something that could prevent it passing some safety laws?

Billy, your wee fella's awesome :thumbs up::thumbs up::thumbs up:
Love the WRC concept, but will it ever make the road??
Now, I wonder where Mini got the shape for that front end, hang on...maybe for the 4wd SUV aspect for the whole concept?
I'm sure I've seen it somewhere before....hmmmmm

those lamps would be a nightmare for oncoming traffic if the driver was a bit latchie in dipping. Would make you want to run the b*ggars off the road. Think the height of the lights is one of the reasons why I don't like any of these jeep type vehicles. Only three more days to go before back to ducking the bl**dy cayennes on Forest Ave. Gggrrrrr! What happened to summer?

I actually like the countryman..we have always had 4x4 or suv's so it appeals to us for the practacality side and from the looks...mini on steroids!! lol !
I only recently got my mini and love it but can't imagine going on holiday with a teenager and two dogs and a couple of bikes as well as luggage ,so this maybe a good alternative ,and a chance to stay in the "mini" family! ;) looking forward to the launch night at Giffnock!
