paid, it was top end of 1k when i phoned 3 months ago. I have been on the old mans fleet policy since Feb or so.
When I actually bought this new car (most recent GP) i needed insurance in my own name again. Quote 3 months ago wasn't available and this was the cheapest they could do it for.

when your an old bugger like some of us on here you'll get cheap insurance. I was £280 until I told them I put non OEM wheels on they then added another £120ish to the policy. Will be getting quote with the bullets on this year.
Funny thing is I done an insurance quote on compare the market the other day and cheapest was about £200, (standard wheels etc on ) then ticked the modifications box and ticked on car graphics/stickers etc, that was all, re-quoted and cheapest was £450.
With some insurance companies any person who does a mod to the original car must be a lunatic and need high insurance. Hopefully the boys on here will be competitive though and i'll be switching to them.
