FA Premier Fantasy League 2010/2011

Would folk be interested in having up a NMS private league for the Offical FA Premier Fantasy League 2010/2011, which would start in August 2010? I have attached a link for people not familiar with the game...

Sure can. I will set up a mini league on the fantasy league site, it generates an entry code, which I will post and folk can register and enter the code to join the league.

We did an interesting experiment in our league this year, where we all entered two teams - 1 you could change as much as you like, the other you picked your starting 11 and subs at the start of the season and left completely alone all year.

For all my tinkering, changing, tweaking and fixing, I only ended up with 200 more points than my team I couldn't change! Helps bolster the league numbers if you need it too, adds a bit more interest.

mmm...tis an interesting idea but I was more thinking along the lines of having 2 leagues, one being the classic style and one the Head 2 Head type...

I agree, the tactics as to when you use it are key, just explaining in case anyone wants to use it now and wasn't aware ;-) I've only once done it this early in the season when my team was even worse than it is this season. Some fluke results so far though - who'd have forseen that many 6-0!

You are actually allowed 2 wild cards this season, its a new rule, punters allowed an extra wild card during the transfer window in January for a limited time.

According to the results Drogba only earned 9, yet, you doubled it, is there some other way that you can get double points that i've missed? is he your captain or something?

See this is what annoyed me two seasons ago. Totally agree with you Paul, this non-sense about Newcastle being a big club. Who says we are a big club, just because we have a big stadium and lots of fans. For me, Man U, Liverpool possibly Chelsea, Milan, Inter, Real they are big clubs! Quite annoying.

Think wires have been crossed. I was comparing what was said at the time that Newcastle were too big to go down but they did to that I just sat through with Liverpool being too big to go down when I had sky on. It was laughed off with Newcastle and we all know what ended up.

There are Big clubs and true European greats with Liverpool being the later with there European successes along with Real, Man U, Milan and Bayern.
Blame the pundits but you know what they mean. Newcastle are a well supported team with great facilities that are geared towards premiership football to that of Blackpool there a big club.

If only Kilmarnock had these two up front for them....sadly it's looking like another relegation battle and so early on too, is all rather disappointing; feel it maybe the last time the premiership will hear “paper roses....’

I'm afraid the fact you had picked the players doesn't matter in the replay, basically if you keep a look out, some teams will have double game weeks (this is a good time to draft in players from either of these teams as they will have 2 chances of scoring points). Will make for an interesting February!!!

I've made many decisions recently, everyone of them has backfired, so much so my desperation cost me 8 points this week for 2 transfers that i agreed to without thinking and pressed the wrong button :ragin:

I enjoyed the season, from a fantasy football and a "real" perspective. All the leagues were competitive, which made it interesting all the way through.

From a real perspective, I can't believe Fergie arranged for this volcano to go up just so Barca couldn't fly to Wembley. That man has so much power ;-)

Well done Euan, it was a really up and down season for most of us, and hopefully if there is only 2 'El Crapico's' next season to not disgust me with football again, I might give it a longer effort. I said after them, I'd had enough with football, and said the same thing when Mike Ashley nearly destroyed my beloved Newcastle several times over...can someone explain why the new Newcastle shirt appeared in the post last Thursday morning?? Taking a leaf out the Big Managers book of excuses! Its was the Refs, nope it was the fixture pile ups, nope.

Dam I just forgot for I think three or four weeks to check in and tinker plus one of the forwards was on strike or something. I think there for the last few games I just let it roll with it.

I do think there is an element of luck in it though. You can pick a team that "should" get points, but then Wolves will do over United and suddenly your team is screwed that week! I think it was well worth it this season though, definitely something to continue with next season.
