i seem to be going thro alot of water and antifreeze i got it serviced a month ago and iv constantly been filling it up. i went to a garage and they said the head gaskit has gone do you think that is rite or are minis prone to this?

Head gasket is the easy answer, but not an easy fix.

Did the garage do a proper pressure test on coolant system? It's pretty clear there's a leak somewhere but it could be coming from anywhere.

Check for areas that show the anti freeze colour.
Usual suspects are the thermostat housing, coolant bottle itself.

Also, confirm the coolant bottle is actually empty and not at it's correct level and simply exiting the overflow pipe, my first S had a very low level
