Just back from a fantastic holiday in Canada driving through and skiing in the Rockies.

Absolutely breathtaking scenery.

Here's just a wee taster.

Start of the 170KM Icefields Parkway ( the sign on the right says no fuel along the whole route)

Looks amazing, and great pictures!

I guess it's like holidaying in Africa - there you come home with a load of pictures of various animals (usually small antelopes!) but in Canada it's mountains and frozen lakes :-)

Would love to go sometime though. My folks did a similar trip but went through the rockies on a train and they loved it.

Neil,

Banff Springs you stayed at?

We were in Canada last June seeing father in law (and looking for work) and took a 2500mile trip in the car around the rockies, and pictures just cant explain the outstanding scenery.

Which towns did you visit Neil?

our round trip was:

Calgary, Banff, Golden, Kelowna, Cransbrook, then stayed in Medicine Hat where father in law lives. :thumbs up:

Skiing was superb, skie'd at Jasper, Lake Louise and Sunshine Village. No queues anywhare except for the access gondola at Sunshine, but still only a few mins wait. Sunshine slopes were busy but all uplift was coping.

You don,t want to know how much :blush:
We were booked for 4 nights with one night free It is an amazing hotel and the service was second to none , our room was fantastic with great views and even two baths in the room (one a spa bath) the receptionist even gave us $30 drinks vouchers to go and relax in the lounge while they took our bags up as she felt she had taken to long to get our check in compleated (although this was not the case) :thumbs up::thumbs up:
We did notice they gave guided tours round the hotel at 3pm each day
Their hotel at Lake Louise is also just as nice with great service again, Their place in Jasper is lodges set up round the main building also a great place to visit.
Banff is a lovely place, they were even power washing the street lights one day. :D:D
We found everwhere we visited in Canada very clean and tidy and everyone amazing nice and helpful.
