Oh no, could be expensive.
When the gear box is out you are as well getting them to replace the clutch as well as it will only be the cost of the clutch (about £120) due to the gearbox being out.

Yep - not heard from the garage just yet what the damage will be but have already had the clutch discussion. Already prepared for a big purse bursting bill :frown:

yep - sort of glad it's come to light now rather than closer to Oxford as that would have been a right pain in the neck

What a Bummer Lynn! Hope it all works out OK. Only 'good' thing is that it didn't happen 300 miles down the motorway to Oxford... Fingers (and wallet) crossed for you and the Bumble.

Ain't that the truth - glad it's all going to be sorted before i have to put in the miles - would have really made a mess of our weekend plans (doing Alton Towers on the Sunday on our way back up the road).
Well it's not so bad ... well it is very sore on the purse but it could have been worse. Going to get the clutch done at the same time and looks like I'll get him back on Thursday so I'm still on public transport till then (grumble, grumble).

Roll on Thursday! Roll on Deodorant. Roll and Cheese. Roland Rat. Sorry, I was on a roll there Lynn.

Be good to get the wee car back all fixed up. :thumbs up:
I’m right in thinking a new gearbox and clutch will need run in.

I dont think you really need to run a clutch and box in, cylinder head or new engine yes but not a clutch. Perhaps with a new box dont go putting it under heavy loads but dont think it will make that much difference.

well i got Bumble back just in time for the easter weekend ... lunchtime Friday. It's was bearings in the gear box that were causing the problem so that and a new clutch it feels like a new car! As an unexpected bill it's a bit sh*t but then at least I can still get to Oxford, but do need to look at finances as I think this may be the nail in the coffin for TwR II. Not long booked holiday, new bathroom and some building work have taken their toll.

I’d have loved to have went to Oxford but it was just a bit much with the TWR II a Month and a bit later. Be a shame to be a yellow Mini down over the run. Hope you manage some creative accounting for May.
But Glad Bumble is back, that run down south will be a fantastic laugh and fun so I’ll envy you that.

I keep mine in a Tupperware box in the cupboard... just in case - you never know.
