transmission jerk

dont own a cooper yet which is what lm planning,had a hire car cooper today.was 08 plate with 46000 mls,drove great except that quite often no matter how gentl eyou were with throttle i kept getting a real snatch of a jerk.is this normal

Never had this with my cooper.My car is a 52 plate and has done less miles.Don't know much about cars sure someone will be along soon who can answer your question properly but sure its not common.

remember seeing an american woman complaining on you tube abt it on her cooper,was 1 of many faults she had and i thought at time sounds strange
