I was at Glencoe skiing today - epic amounts of snow and fantastic weather :yes nod:. Took a couple of photos before going up in the chairlift and thought some folk might like to see them. The scenery on the way there and back was awesome - great drive up too as the A82 was quiet!

Wow, how clear are the roads? I have to do the reccie on the Highland Tour and I'd love to get up there whilst there's still snow on the hills

Beautiful pictures. Is it possible I've seen the cottage in a painting somewhere?

Cheers :thumbs up:. Yes, it is possible to ski to the carpark - some folk were doing it (not me!) and were able to pick their way down quite easily. The conditions further up are near perfect so if you can go, now is the time!

Yeah, I heard that too - unbelieveable :D.

The roads are clear and largely bone dry. The drive up was just as enjoyable as the skiing !

I'm not sure . I just thought it looked like a great photo and I loved the way the snow was sliding off the roof!

Great pic's, tempted to take a nip up myself just for the drive to fortwilliam and back.

As for the Cottage (Black Rock Cottage), very close to dels picture is a famous picture that you can buy as a print, it was also on M&S Shortbread boxes over XMAS in snow.

Honestly your picture I prefer as well, the usual pictures of the Black Rock Cottage are normally Dark and Dramatic or with a hint of snow, yours is like a winter wonderland. :thumbs up:

Thank you very much :thumbs up: ! I took a few shots with varying zoom settings - might get one printed and framed.

Haven't been skiing for years. When I was younger and stayed in Dundee used to go to Glenshee a lot. My son is now mad for snowboarding - goes to the Xscape at Braehead, but he's not been to the real deal yet! I'm very tempted to take a jaunt up there this weekend! Looks fantastic!

Yeah, my son goes to Xscape too (skiing) and also hasn't been to the real deal yet! The conditions at Glencoe are ideal for a first trip - the Plateau was just gorgeous yesterday, as was the Low Road on the other side of the Plateau poma - wide, flat and groomed. I'm also thinking about taking him up this Sunday but it's likely to be mega busy and that's putting me off a bit.

Xscape is pretty good though, I've skied there a few times too. Best in quiet periods as you can sometimes get back up the poma without stopping!

Cheers - it would have been even better without the Passing Place sign  (I feel some editing coming on......)
