I know it's been asked before but I'll ask again.

what size tyres can I get other than the usual 205 45 17

can I get 215 45 17 or is it 215 40 17.

I had scrubing issues on 215 45, though think others have been fine.
Think Brian Pirie uses the 215 40 for his wheels
205 45 is most commonly used

Rubbing is not a issue for R56, I actually went 225/40 R18 without a problem.

I am running 215/45/17 on my winters with no problems. I went for that size as you get infinitely more choice than you do with 205/45/17... :thumbs up: I have also run 205/40/17 ;)

thanks can't say I have noticed any great increase in choice of tyre when searching 215 45 17. I need to look more me thinks.

Pity that does not seem to be the case with RFs if that is what you are after.

only 1 on mytyres, compared to about 6 with 205s.

Fiona uses proper tyres so no need for the barney rubble tyres ;)

Fiona has more sense than me then :yes nod:

I am sorely tempted to move away from RFs now MINI normal tyres on the bigger wheels.

I am just nervous about the lack of a spare in the S :blush:

My fronts on the S are looking like they will need replaced in the not too distant future and I've only done 11k miles, pretty gentle at that :frown:
