Bridge Of Weir has been hit hard with snow in the last 48 hours and i am snowed in today and off work

I had to abandon the MINI last night as could go no further. Got up early this morning and headed off to the car and discovered this... Arghhhhh!!! :sad::sad::sad:

2 trees have collapsed overnight with weight of snow over my MINI and an Audi A3. As far as i can see i don't think i have damage as the branches etc are just resting across the bonnet of car on top of a fair amount of snow.. However the Audi is worse off, he is got huge branches resting across his roof/bonnet/whole car so it must have damage.

The cars are trapped and we are waiting for someone to come with chainsaws so that the tress can be cut down and cars freed....

What a nightmare!! :frown::frown:

Feel bad for you. Here is my little rant from last night

Well it's snowing again up here. No problems getting to work at 3http://www.minitorque.com/forum/images/smilies/modern/thumbup1.gif But come 6.30 (its a short shift today I know) at heading home its a mare. Everyone is doing 10mph max. Then get into my street and its not been clearedhttp://www.minitorque.com/forum/images/smilies/modern/lol.gif And my car gets stuck coming into it. So eventually manage to get to my drive, snow ploughing like hell by now. And then I can't get up my drivehttp://www.minitorque.com/forum/images/smilies/modern/cursing.gif My drive is literally 5* slope but the car wasn't having it. 3 neighbours clearing their drives just look at me spinning the wheels. Aye cheers for the help:argh: So clear the snow and manage another meter - just off the road. So a 1.8mile took me a hour. Least I know my radiator is sorted as the car didn't overheat todayhttp://www.minitorque.com/forum/images/smilies/modern/lol.gif

Ivano, gutted for you buddy. I hope when they cut down the trees, that your car escapes unhurt. Don't want any bits flying off and hitting your car! Fingers crossed!

Ben, you know Westhill well im sure, yesterday, to get from the Holiday Inn, up to Hillside...two hours. No joke, two hours, but I was with my mate so had company. To put it into perspective, we're talking two hours to travel about 750 metres!

Was hearing that. 1.5hours on a bus from Elrick to the Holiday Inn. 30min walk? It is mental. Were cars not getting stuck on that hill though?
Also I work in Westhill:yes nod:

He is Free.... :thumbs up: and has come through it unscathed thanks to to the deep layer of snow that was on bonnet... I am so relieved.... :smilewinkgrin::smilewinkgrin:

But i will tell you having a lowered car in the last 24 hours has been a nightmare. The underside and arches was just compacted with the snow and it took about 20 mins to get it moved out from the side of the road.

Ivano I was just about to say I'd get the car well out of there before the chainsaws but i see it all worked out. That first pic was scary....... My car aint moved since Tuesday. Its safe up the drive and it aint moving. I live the top of a hill and then the drive is up a slope.

Just about to head out Walking. Glad the wee car is ok, that some snow.
