Just bought my first Mini, a 2003 Dark Silver Cooper S Works that I pick up from Park Lane Mini next week. One owner with 20k on the clock.

I'll post photos when I get it home, first journey will be 450 miles up the M1/M6, perhaps not the most exciting drive!

Hey, welcome along. I thought my car was relatively low miles with 14k after 3.5 years, but your pretty much beats all of us lol!

Looking forward to seeing some pics, Dark Silver is a sweet colour to have, does it have a black roof?

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

In reply to the last post, it has a dark silver roof too with black mirrors, but I'd like to change them to chrome.

Ahhhh... A 2003 MCS JCW..... Memories! Great car, enjoy it. Still miss the whine on my 210 JCW. Remember to feed it on Shell V-Power (other high octane brands are available) tho'!
Hint Hint... GRS Intercooler, Nice wee Manifold and System, ITG replacement Filter... OK Nurse, time for my pills, I know.

1 day to go before the (overnight) bus journey from hell to collect the car. Craig has already told me to look out for the split / leaking expansion tank, I've read that all Mini's can suffer from rust in the sills and I've also read that they can leak oil from a number of places around the engine. Is there anything else I should be looking at? Getting a full 12 months Mini warranty, so anything is fixable (at someone else's expense), but any advice on areas to look would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys, John

Very noisy power steering pumps can mean they are on their way out... also check the pump itself for leaking... Exhaust corrosion and headlamps not levelling correctly....

Full marks to you for going by Bus, I would rather walk....

Hope it is a great car and you love the drive home... :thumbs up: at least you have MINI Assistance for a year...

Thanks Craig, is the Works exhaust stainless? and even if it is, do the still rot?

Do you think I'll need the Assistance within the year? will they come out for a squeaky/rattly dash?

the exhaust problem will be down to the baffles if there is a problem....

as for needing the assistance... who knows... ;) and no I think the rattling dash is your problem
