Some Fud crashed into my car!!!

What can I say, the car in front of me indicated right and stopped, I stopped behind them and needless to say the old lady behind me failed to stop! I could see her in my rear view mirror and thought she has not got the space to stop. Its in at Parks bodyshop in East Kilbride. They reckon £5000/£5500.

Thats not the one that parks on Merrylee road is it. I pass an identical car to this every day near enough and it was the colour I wanted but they did not do it in the cooper at the time.

It happened in Strathaven on thursday as i was going back to work at the golf club. Off work for two weeks with whiplash/sore shoulders. Hopefully it will be back to being like new.

The same thing happened to me and my mate years ago. He had a mint black Fiesta XR2 (this was going back a few years!) and we'd stopped behind a transit turning right in the industrial estate next to Aberdeen Airport (we we're on our way to Overton for something for my Escort) and some pillock in an Alfa came ploughing into us. Wrote both cars off, and we all had very sore necks for a long time after!

The insurance company is not going to write it off, not happy. Swiftcover are not my favourite insurance company. To top it all they dont want to replace the baby seats cause I don't have a receipt.

Really sorry to see the wee car like that - AND you get pain as well! Hope it gets back to 'as new' condition - it should if they're spending that sort of money.

Isn't it typical of the Insurance to quibble over something? Pity they couldn't help you out with the seats as part of the fix. Remember that the price will be so high as being an insurance job they'll be replacing everything with brand new 'kosher' MINI bits, which will push the repair bill up - so maybe the damage isn't TOO bad... despite the pics. Presumeably there's nothing structurally wrong. But it's still a massive bummer. All the best with the car and the neck. Are you claiming anything for your injuries?

I'll echo all that. What I would say is we have a guy offshore who will not take his car back from the repair centre until he is happy. He has now been in 3 times to collect after they alledged to have completed the work, and refused to accept it.

Take your time when you go and pick it up. The temptation to have a quick look over it and say yup that's fine, but don't. If need be take a camera and picture any bits you are not happy with.

Lastly might also be worth taking the garge manager out on pick up for a test drive, so he can see first hand if there are any mechanical issues. A car with that much damge may have something wrong that only you the regular driver will know when it's driven.
