i've done over 20,000 miles on the same set of pads now and i think they are beginning to get old cos of the slight rubbing / grinding noise. i've looked at the discs and they look like they are in good condition. How many miles have you gone before replacing the break pads? Should i think about gettin new pads now?

When i had the service done at 19K they told me the thickness of the Pads, and the condition of the Discs. (Life left until the next service)

Although the pads arent covered under the TLC I'm fairly sure i've seen that the Labour is included.

First service at 22,000 miles! Usually it is needed at about 10,000 miles, mine is in next week for the second service at 24,000

Don't think do Duncan, unfortunately.

My car got first inspection service at 23k miles. No mention of impending change required. I had a look at them all aroud 20k miles and there was loads left on all the pads.

That's the car's second service BTW. First service (an oil service) was at 9.2k.

Just gone 20,000 miles in my 'S' and will need to change the front pads soon. The discs are ok though. Think I might try something like Green Stuff pads.........anyone tried anything other than standard pads on an 'S'

Cheers
