Looking at getting an External Hard Drive. 1TB

Does anyone know if you can connect up an external HDD onto a network to enable file share across wifi?

Been looking at network drives and external drives, just wondering if its possible.

You can, but for not a lot more money you can get a full blown NAS which will have much better performance, but really depends what you want from it.

I'm looking at getting a full NAS at the moment for all my photos and music, with the intention to stream the music around the house, and put the photos on the TV via the PS3. Netgear ReadyNAS, QNAP and Synology all on my list.

If you want something a bit simpler, Netgear Stora looks ok, and there is a Buffalo (I think) which is a single drive with wi-fi.

All comes to down to what you want to do with it and money!

That one doesn't look to be wireless enabled, so you'll need to hook it into your router, though you'll be able to access it wirelessly it depends if your router is anywhere silly (like mine - which is behind the TV - got to love Virgin...).
