How much is a real MINI one?

Not knocking that one, but an OEM part will be easier to sell if you take it out of the car before sellling it on.

Got to agree there.

Is it a Gen1 or Gen2 MINI you own?

There is 2 types of armrest that you can buy

56 plate. I like the idea of an arm rest. Easy to fit etc?

I got the top retrokit and it took me and my brother 30 mins to do :D

OOO4BES bought the top one off me also, not sure if he has fitted it yet.

I know Craig bought the bottom one for his R50 and not sure if now in his R53.

i would ask Craig what the bottom one is like

I've had both types of armrest and would defo say the one that flips up and clicks tightly shut is better than the one with the sliding top. Its roomier, easier access to the furthest corner and unlike the sliding one, it won't open uninvited and spill things over the front of the car. I find the sliding one does that a lot and doesn't hold as much stuff. On the plus side I suppose its sleeker and doesn't get in the way when accessing the socket for the seat belt or working the handbrake. That's been my experience but others might think differently.

The prices that were quoted in the 1st page are prices from me being a NMS member.

The one I have in my 2002 cooper is oem I presume due to the fact I had to remove the plastic covers either side of the handbrake to fit. I can't figure how to post a photo to show! It has no storage but I agree its a great mod, makes for a laid back drive. I had forgotten how much I missed my armrest from my previous car, an mx5. I will be selling my armrest along with other parts in a few months time.

We have the type on the first picture, which I moved from the Cubman to the Works. Takes time but fairly easy to do. The whole of the inside of the centre console has to be changed, along with the rear cup holder. Like Crombers I really like an armrest in a car. Somewhere for an old man to put his pipe ;)

Random question as its hard to see in the pics, but the second one, is the top black or gray, and is the top leather or cloth?

Craig

hmmmm, tempting. Just not sure if it will work though! My interior is black / red leather and piano black trip. Thinking it may look out of place.
