Details on MOT failure rates have been published on the Department of Transport's Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) website following a Freedom of Information request by the BBC.

I read this article through another website, will be damned if I can remember where. I think I agreed with those people questioning the usefulness of the data since there are too many variables that would need to be taken into the equation before making any judgements on which car is most likely to need work done to get through its MOT. you know stuff like lights, wiper blades, etc oops and mileage too. Specy was a good example of that. Sailed his first and second MOT but needed something very minor for his third one but with 156K+ on his clock that I think was pretty special. Some other makes of cars would have been to the scrappers by then.
