Morning

I have brought a small key locking safe for a friends gran and it came with no instructions and the parts to fix it to the wall are not as I expected.....!!!

Can anyone advise me on how using the parts it came with I am meant to bolt this to a wall.....as you can see below it came with;

a part threaded bolt,
a sleeve for this,
a split ring disc washer,
a normal washer
and a nut.....

Kind regards, Matthew

This looks like a fixing for a concrete/brick wall/floor, not for a cavity wall, if thats what you have then it would appear you have the wrong fitting, if this is going into a concrete floor or wall then....see below

OK had a look I think I know what is supposed to happen here. Assemble the threaded bolt with the sleeve over it with the slotted section away from the head of the screw now put the nut on the screw. Leave the washers just now. Drill a hole in the wall (should be a snug fit) insert the bolt and sleeve/nut. You should now be able to tighten it pulling the nut upwards into the sleeve splaying the sleeve thus tightening it into the brick/concrete. Once tight remove screw the fixing should be solid, now just put the safe hole infront of the fitting and put the screw/bolt with washers on through tightening up the fixing.

I hope this makes sense it's the way I would try and do it, but without seeing it it's hard to judge. Hope this helps.

Almost right Greig, just round the wrong way.
I've used these before. They are indeed used for solid walls, cant be used on plasterboard.
What you do is drill your hole the diameter of the sleeve.
Then put sleeve on bolt and nut on after.
Then you put the assembled fixing in the hole bolt head first.
(The depth of hole should allow the sleeve to sit flush with wall, no deeper or you may loose your bolt in the hole when you take the nut off!).
The sleeve should be flush with the wall, and you should have the threaded part sticking out with the nut on it.
Tighten the nut until the sleeve gets a good grip then take the nut off.
You should be left basically with a threaded stud sticking out the wall. Place the safe over the studs then put your washers on then the nut and tighten it up.
