Now I am a huge fan of TG and always have been, but I think last nights episode went a bit too far with James Mays' airbus/caraven stunt when he entered into that airport airspace and obviously caused chaos!!
Im sorry but you just dont do that and put peoples lives at risk, what a fecking idiot... :ragin:I REALLY hope he got a good bollocking for that.
On a good note, I LOVED that Lamborghini LP550-2 Balboni (rear wheel drive... Mmmmm) that thing is AWESOME I'd sell my left nut or even both for one of those :yes nod: :D Just a shame they did not let theone call "The STIG" do a lap in it, that would have been brilliant to watch (and listen too).

If I'm honest Zimbo, I suspect that was a stunt. I just can't see BBC bosses allowing the possibility of that happening as it was played out for us. If he was seriously about to enter an airport airspace, he'd have ditched it immediately. All done for our tellyviewing entertainment. AIMHO:D

Defo a stunt, they would have got hammered for it.
just checked news pages, they were in the news for James crash landing it nit entering air space.
it was a top laugh May's face.
I near wet myself with Clarkson & hamster in the Stratos, leg touching.

Calm yourself Shirley...
Obviously staged..
Didn't you see the bit of control tower poking into the shot when he was pretending to land it at a "Caravan Site"?

Agree this must have been staged, found the program so funny though from start to finish, and that Lambo wow, liking the idea of the graphics on it, it gives me an idea.

I really enjoyed last nights programme. The Stratos was awesome, you can tell they've been itching to do a Lancia segment for a while now.
And how many Ferraris does Chris Evans have! The auction thing he does where people end up in his pub, it's a very nice pub that does very good food - we used to go as it was an hours drive through countryside from Wimbledon, so for a Sunday morning drive it was perfect. And the car park was usually full of very nice cars as it's a supercar haunt - usually at least one Aston or Ferrari in the car park. That's Surrey for you...

loved last nights top gear.
Yeah defo a stunt. He would get locked up for that otherwise.
I have driven a couple of different Lancia Fulvias in my time including a proper (not like the pretend fulvia M.C they had on top gear) Monte Calro 1.6 wide arch ralye prep car and a standard 1.3 Fulvia.
The man I used to work for at the garage is a big Lancia fan and has several Fulvias that he uses on special stages etc.
They really are lovely to drive. They have a dog leg first gear but once you are past that then its as good to drive as a classic mini.

I love’s my Top Gear and last night was fine fair but last weeks with the electric car was an obvious gap filler and took too much of the episode up. I’d really wish they would drop the “ leaving the car at the top of the field with the hand brake off” kind off stuff out as when its so obviously staged like that its never funny:rolleyes:. Blooming hilarious when its genuine.
JC was on Radio one last weeks breakfast show and he emitted it’s the worst they have been prepared ever for a series and it might just be me but its showing a bit. Less wow moments. all I can say is thank god for that Lambo last night, although the Lanci segment was good also.

The Top Gear presenters remind me of the Radio One "DJs" of the seventies. Immature, wealthy, self-satisfied, biased middle-age men. Throw in a bit of casual racism disguised as stereotyping and there you have it.
Time for BBC2 to have a clear out, Radio One style and let some new blood breathe life into the old dinosaur that Top Gear has become.
Its just a joke these days.

Yeah im a big fan of top gear but it is getting a bit repetitive.... and i know its an old argument but a few more normal cars being featured that i could actually afford would be nice too!

I like Top Gear but it's certainly more like a car-themed entertainment show nowadays. Good fun though :yes nod:.

Both you and del have got good points here it's kinda like del says it's an entertainment show based around cars. I actually like used car road show tbo do I want top gear to change, not really. A few more road tests of normal cars would be nice though. Sometimes regardless of how good a show is maybe it's run it's course. Would be sad to loose this program.
By the way loving the new signiture strip del.

Even with Top Gear, all their challenges are so similar, buy this for x amount, go to here, do this etc.
I'd quite happily watch them go nuts on their track with different cars for an hour and not have any challenges. Watched an episode on Dave the other day, when Jez was in an FQ400 i think chasing a Lambo...now that is entertainment. Not watching a rediculous home made car roll down a hill that they didnt know was happening!!!
I've said it before, and a'l say it again, can't wait for the new series of Fifth Gear!

UGH!
Oh well, used car roadshow it is! After checking out the net, Johnny has tweeted (and trust me i HATE using that phrase) that "it's maybe time for a new car show recipe"

I like Big JC but sometimes your thinking this is an adult show or have I missed something as it goes in to Chuckle vision mode. Seen that episode on Dave when they had the Works and the German Version from some company and an other one and was thinking what a great five-ten minutes of Mini porn.
I know I’d rather have seen Hamster pushing that Lambo in Wales or Scotland than the Floating caravan airship.

They do three series a year, with 6-8 episodes in each -that's a minimum of 18 hours of TV to make - there just aren't enough interesting new cars to do a 1 hour show just on cars. Personally, I'd rather see them pushing supercars around than a Mazda 6 diesel.
Clarkson has said it's an entertainment show - before they redid the Top Gear format, how else would anyone have had a car show where entire families sit and watch it on a Sunday night? It just wouldn't have happened.

I'd happily watch 18 hours of the guys driving any model of Aston Martins around, and around and around and...well u get it....:p:D:p:D

Mmmm , have to agree with some of that :yes nod:
If they would just stick to feckin cars :argh:
The only natural comedian is James May & Clarksons wit is best suited to the columns of the press, as he is a good writer imho.
