Mmm! My favourite fact about Aberdeen is about Provost Davidson 14th C who along with Lord Forbes, Earl of Mar, dispensed harsh justice during the day to the good folk of Aberdeen and by night were a pair of fearsome and notorious pirates. Their most famous victim being no less than Dick Whittington who really was Mayor of London of whom they lightened of two ships laden with valuable goods. There is an effigy of Provost Davidson in the same part of St Nicholas Kirk as The Piper Alpha memorial. He was just a little mannie barely five foot high. Enterprise has always flourished in the NEest ;)
