Ok, what's the best way to do this..............
Transfer my car registration to my daughters car?

Is it best to put it on retention and get my old reggie back and then transfer to my daughter, or, can it all be done in one go??

is not £80 for transfer and a £120 or £150 to put it on retention. I would transfer if it was me

you need the V5 docs for each vehicle. The serial number of each tax disc and also any MOT certificates.

Plus fill out a transfer of reg plate form - more details HERE (http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/PersonalisedRegAndNumberPlates/DG_4022576)

Both Reg docs Mot's (were applicable) I dont think you need the insurance but best take it anyway (they can check it online)
and Dosh!!

No need to take tax discs as you can post them in when you get number plates done.

I was not asked for tax disc serial number.

It might just be for a retention, but I had to do that before (there was a bit on the form).. They can also check on-line if your car is taxed and get the info that way, but some of them can be a bit how do you say Hitlerish..:lol:

HERE (http://www.direct.gov.uk/prod_consum_dg/groups/dg_digitalassets/@dg/@en/@motor/documents/digitalasset/dg_069390.pdf) is the doc. :thumbs up: Called a V317 for transfer or retain of number plate.

(Also shows the bit for the serial number of tax disc ;))

You don't need the tax discs as they send you new ones if the new paperwork then you send your old one in
