I found your forum because someone posted a link to my website so I signed up to take a look. I own a little tyre shop in Dundee and my mother owns a 2008 Mini Cooper (Her third one). Lots of my customers have Minis so it'll be nice to hear which tyres people use and their opinions on them.

Tyres of choice for me would be Uniroyal Rainsports 2 for summer use and Nokian Tyres WRG2s, I'm currently running on Dunlop Wintersport 3D but they aren't as good as the Nokians.

run toyo T1R on my cooper love them but have to say that really sell them . But really they are good tyres wet and dry. SO SO glad i removed run flats from car. Drives totaly different now and got rid of so much road noise.
