Brilliant Andy, but funny thing is there is Nothing in the road traffic act that says you cannot watch tv whilst driving. They would have to prove you were driving without due care and attention.

To be fair Greig, if you had the TV on at the time of an incident, you'd have trouble convincing any plod it had nothing to do with the a Top Gear re-run on the TV.
I guess the trouble would be if there wasn't an incident and the plod just saw you watching, they would then need to prove it was affecting your driving. Again, most judges would fall the way of the plod on that one surely.

Not neccessarly, again they would have to prove you were driving without due care, so you would have to commit an offence, eg speeding, cross solid white line, etc. That's while mobile phone laws changed, the courts/police etc had to prove in the past that using your phone had a contribution to an incident. This is actually quite hard to do and due to the problem becoming excessive they made it a specific offence.
