Fuel Efficiency Cooper S 06

Guys, Looking for a wee bit of feedback on how fuel efficient my Cooper S should be. Its an 06 plate with no mods as yet to the engine. At Least i dont think there has been!! Had it since March but just thought its a bit sore on the go go juice. Its my wife that drives it mostly so its not hammered. I find we get on average about 270 probably 280 miles max to a full tank. Can someone tell me if this is the norm or should i look at gettin it checked out. Cheers Guys.

if its supercharged and given its age it probably is then that's about right.

The turbo cars are much better especially the effing dynamic ones.

is it nearly all town driving? I get about 300 miles from a tank using various roads.. I think it's about right if it's a lot of town driving.... however if it is mostly motorway miles, it's using too much juice.. ;)

i was going to say i get about 250/260 out of my tank sometimes moore but have to drive like a granny

I tend to get 230 if I drive sensibly in my R53 JCW. Managed to use half a tank in comfortably less than 100 miles before though :D

Cooper S - 06 Plate, for £40 I get around 260-280, thats easy does it on motorways and gun it on the B roads.

Average about 31mpg

Thats really not bad for town driving. I can get about 400 miles from my '06 S after mods but my commute is slow A roads and i'm rarely in town.

For mixed use I think 30mpg is fair.
