Hi all,

just wondering if there are any heating engineers that can help me with a noise from our combi boiler.

the noise is a sharp vibrating noise that lasts less than a second just as the boiler ignites when the heating is on.

the boiler is an ariston microgenus which is about 5 years old.
the noise only happens just at the ignition point, wasnt sure if it was the pump but the noise seems to come from the other side from where the pump is.

any help would be much appreciated.

Could be the extract fan for the flu. As it starts up until it gets to speed it could make that noise, indicating the bearings could be on their way out, hard to work out without hearing it.
