My alloys have started to pick up those really hard, stuck on tiny bits of what I assume to be brake pad deposits.

What would you recommend to remove them?

I would ideally like a rememdy that did not involve harsh chemicals or too much elbow grease required.

Thanks :yes nod:

G101 dilute to suit then wash then clay bar and lube. Works for me anyway.

I find that a wheel brace is the best way to remove alloys...

Sorry, I'll get me coat.

noted.

as for what to use, I use BTGR (Bitumen Tar and Glue Remover) diluted. No need for clay thereafter, then wash and dry. Put on some poorboys wheel sealant and then clean at least once per week. All depends on your mileage, but I find that mine don't gather tar spots/brake dust after that.. :thumbs up:

BTGR - where can I buy that?

I've tried normal tar spot remover in the past and it did not shift it.

Thanks.

Barton Chemicals (http://www.bartonchemicals.co.uk/) in Broxburn. You can buy over the counter or get it delivered to you. :thumbs up: I also use their Coconut Sheen for my tyre dressing. :yes nod:

I used chemical guys wheel cleaner and as craig says poorboys wheel sealant to make it easier the next time. To be honest I find just regular cleaning is the best way to avoid any harsh cleaning agents. Hope this helps. Also use chemical guys tyre gel.

For bitumen tar and glue remover you are far better off with Autosmart Tardis.

I used to use barton chemicals stuff for a while when I worked at the garage but we then moved onto autosmart with far better results.
