MAN I love that roadster, especially the fact that is in PURE WHITE which is a colour I have ALWAYS wanted on a mini... :clap: (dont think much of that white interior though :moonie:) red, black or beige leather interior would go nicely with the white outside colour.

Oh yes I think I have found my next mini :yes nod: (would have preferred a hard folding roof, but hey ho...)

I know I'm old and thick, but ok there are 2 different cars one with a fixed hard top and one with cloth convertible roof?
Blue one with silver hard top......the lines are all wrong, looks like something has been dropped on it
White one with soft top....that is a minging roof.....much worse than the current convertible, that really looks like a pram!!

Where is the convertible with a folding tin roof? If other manufacturers can do it? wake up BMW

Yeah - a hard top folding roof wold have sealed the deal of the roadster or coupe for me.

Got to say - hats off to BMW for realising what is "cool" right now. Joey Mod and two toned alloys as standard. Let's just hope those features role through from the concept to production :cool:

Don't think I'd buy one one myself, but i'd let the girlfriend have a coupe I think....i'd just make sure I'm a named driver :p :D

I agree with you on some points there Malcome, but I believe the gr8 soft tops of our time were all horrible with their roofs up. A good convertable is designed with it's top off. Look at the MX5, Z3, even the 3 series BMW, all much better top down. Granted there are some very nice hardtop convertables out there but that's not proper convertable driving. IMHO obviously.

The roadster is amazing in the flesh, the pics dont do it justice! The interior is awesome and the attention to detail is amazing. I would def have one on order now if i could afford it lol! The paint is not just white it is pearl/metallic white and really pops when you see it up close. The mini dude also told us the roof is manual to save weight.

The Coupe is also very nice but not a patch on the roadster, this was proven by the crowd of people around the roadster all day and the very few people that looked at the Coupe! which left me feeling a bit sorry for the coupe lol i think it needs the roof sorted out and also a slightly more exciting paint job for a concept!

Both these cars look very near production might i add and there was no gaffa tape in sight! :D

The Mini stand was great, there was a DJ chucking out some tunes and Mini lounge serving drinks in Mini cups that everyone was keeping lol. There was every model of mini there and also a classic Mini too! The Mini shop was very flashy and very expensive haha but got good sneak peak at some new stuff :smilewinkgrin:

the rest of the show was fantastic too, highlights being the BMW stand next to Mini which actually had a track and cars going around it!!

Next highlight was the Alfa Romeo stand.... i fell in love with that Matt White Mito! Oh and the Chrome R8 was awesome - check the link to my gallery!

However Frankfurt as a city was nothing like i imagined! The Germans are either very nice or very nasty lol there is no in-between! There is very little to do in the town centre and you really need to watch the junkies that hang about! Oh and Taxi drivers are nuts, twice we had a taxi driver that was racing other traffic while we were onboard!

Anyway as a whole the motor show was amazing and i highly recommend it, just don't stay in Frankfurt for too long as it is pretty boring lol :hand:

There's nothing left for me to photograph :p The roadster looks beautiful. Changed my mind about the coupe liked it, then didn't and now changed my mind from your pics. Thanks for the tips about Frankfurt - going Thursday coming back Saturday - think that sounds about enough time. :thumbs up:!!

Got used to having a passing glance at most Mini’s on the road, but even the JCW are a bit common round our way, I’ll bloody crash the first time I see that Roadster trying to get a look at it.

We found the town strange too
We asked the hotel where to go for food/drink and she circled an area on the map

Strangely enough - we found ourselves in this area too. Must be like a magnet!! Parked on the street was a Bentley painted like army camouflage!!!!!:frown: Were too scared to take a picture - wanted to get out of that area ASAP...well I did...my hubby didn't seem to mind it so much! :D
