nah a great fan of the 500. I know they are supposed to be great but they are made by Fiat (reliability) and dont look that good in my opinion.

Oh I dunno, my Punto (I bought it off my Dad who bought it new) has thus far had a much better 'reliability' record than my MINI :yes nod:

Ditto. I've got a 500 diesel Sport and it's proven more reliable than my r56 mini did. It reminds me more of my 2003 MINI for its character than the r56 did!

200bhp in a 500. Hope they get it right. It'll either be amazing to drive, or ****. Is it still a 1.4? Hope not, i'd imagine it'll be uber laggy.

I thought the Abarth concept was cool, but the car just isn't quick enough although the SS is a bit better.

My cash would go on an Alfa Mito GTA - 230bhp when it comes out :thumbs up:

Do you believe everything you read? :hand:

Even so, it's easy to fit a set of decent shocks/springs, ARB's & poly bushes, maybe an LSD too....then play about with it for a good setup. As said by others, you don't buy Alfa's with your head & as a Scots-Italian - it appeals to my Italian half

Compared to a Fiat 500, the Mito is miles ahead in the looks dept. :yes nod:

That does look really nice, especially like the Ferrari esq touches like the rear valance looks very similar to the F360 and F430 and those seats just look SO NICE... Anyone spot the lack of a gear stick, so it has one of those flappy padle thingymajigs...

What is the significance of the 695 tho? Ohh and I dont think this will be cheap, not with the name Ferrari added!! :thud:

The 695 is quite sexy, but the Abarth SS should look like that anyway. It still reminds me of a Micra from the rear though :frown: Don't think the performance/equipment has been hiked enough to justify the cost.

You must be kidding:eek: They do make some nice looking machines but they don't appear to be very reliable. Here's a wee story for you..........
I work beside a guy who's mate got one of those 'hire an exotic car for the weekend' vouchers off his missus and decided to hire a Ferarri for the weekend. On the Thursday before the due weekend he got a call saying the Ferarri wasn't available so he took an Aston Martin instead. Had a great weekend with it and when it was getting picked up he asked what had happened to the Ferarri. The guy says its the biggest heap of crap known to man..!! It never out of the garage as there's always something going wrong with it and its more bother than its worth..!! Aston, Porsche, Bentley, etc all just need a service once a year and off they go but the Ferarri.....He only keeps one because thats what everyone wants to have a shot off otherwise he wouldn't bother with it.

Ive test drove the Mito & the only thing to let it down was the gear stick , its so slack straight out of the Uno. Arnold Crap are now doing new 500 Arbarth for £13600

Now, I drive past the Alfa dealer every day on my way to work and look at Mito's all the time. Colour is a big thing with the Mito, in the wrong colour they look wrong. In the right colour they just look a bit odd, but I like that. Let's face it, you can only do so much with a small car these days now that the EU make them all be pedestrian safe!

And I prefer the interior to the 500, which felt like it had built to a budget. Don't get me wrong, I love the styling (apart from the Micra ass) but they are too small and cheap feeling for me to spend my money on them.

Anyway, it's a moot point as if I was buying a small, sporty hatch, it would have a Mini badge on it.

What attracts you to a Ferrari though; reliability (nope), performance (in some cases), looks (yes) and of course there's the badge snobs. They've never been known for reliability due to their highly tuned nature - and also it's clever marketing by Ferrari as the service/repair costs keep them in business :hand: TBH, the abuse that the cars get with that type of hire company it's amazing they even bother with one Ferrari.

is it just me but i can only see 1 tribute to ferrari badge on it :cool:not an actual ferrari badge mind you ive seen that sort of thing before with the LOTUS sunbeam or the LOTUS carlton or the etc etc etc ,this car bears ABARTH badges because its tuned by ABARTH the same way JCW tunes the mini.

I think that's the problem tho Alan.......it's brand spanking new:eek:
He claims to have NO major issues with any of his other supercar fleet ie Aston, Lambo, Porsche, Zonda, he does them all:eek: He just services them when it says to and off they go. No drama. But the Ferrari seems to be a bit of a premadonna:rolleyes: Always wanting attention for something and he says its just a pain:frown: They do make some nice cars I'll grant you but would I buy one...don't think so...always been a Porsche 911 fan....GT3 anyone:thumbs up: I could buy 2 with the money saved not buying a Ferrari...lol

But why can't they do reliability when others can:confused:
Veyron, Zonda, Lambo etc all have engines that produce more power than a Ferrari and are considerably more reliable.

LOL well it would help if we knew which models of these cars you meant?
I mean if the following versions of these manufacturers were in the line-up then there is NO WAY I could choose one only, because I love them all!!!

ASTON - V12 Vantage
BENTLEY - Continental GT Speed
PORSCHE - GT2/GT3RS/TURBO/CLASSIC(NEW 2010)
FERRARI - Scuderia/16M

The reason hire Ferraris are so popular is that, typically, it's a wife/girlfriend who'll buy it and Ferrari have the badge. I'd love a go in one, probably over a 911 and perhaps the Aston, mainly for the noise :-)

If I was buying one of those, I'd probably get a 911 though - everyday practicality with good performance.
