just need advice to see if anyone has this done or is looking into getting this done.
even if its not the lohen package its more the reduced supercharger pully im more worried about.
asked the tech in the workshop if this was 'ok' to do and he says no as the pully is also attached to the waterpump. (on the opposite side)
he says that the waterpump will now work its double load and bugger up.
i just need opinions on this to see if anyone has incurred any problems in reducing the pully on the SC??

No problem with a reduced pulley whatsoever.
Fit it properly with a reduced belt, colder spark plugs and a decent intercooler and it'll be the best mod you'll ever do :thumbs up:

the JCW kit includes:
new head and supercharger, so i guess the SC has the reduced pully already on it. :thumbs up:

Don't think the water pump is attached to the other side of the supercharger is it:confused: Is it not on the engine block somewhere:Whistle:Can't imagine the water pump will be in a different location on the 'S' engine than the one and cooper otherwise where would you put it as they have no supercharger to mount it on:argh:
I thought they were all the same engine but with an extra pulley/belt going to the supercharger.......but I'm prepared to be corrected:moonie:
Maybe he's getting confused as the belt, I think, runs round the alternator/water pump/supercharger/crankshaft but your only changing the supercharger pulley so it alone spins faster...it won't effect any of the other equipments rotating speed.

David, isn't your car already a JCW? if not, then as everyone suggests, the water pump does not run off the supercharger and a reduced pulley is defo the way to go for increased performance :thumbs up:

You would think that the spec the car was, it would of had a JCW kit!
ok... im going to save up for the Lohen conversion as its more cost efficient than the JCW kit! :D

I know you can get an alta redused altantor pully when geting a sc pully as I looked in to this for my jcw that is when I was told that the jcw comes with one sovwould be better to have the 2% increace crank pully instead was thinking that and a live remap for mine and that would be it fin for perfomance just a setvof areo skits and it would be perfict :-)

There is no harm in reducing the supercharger pulley to reasonable levels, JCW as already stated comes with a teflon coated blower (as do all facelifts) and it has an 11% pulley installed.
The water pump IS driven off the supercharger, the one and cooper has an electric water pump
The lohen 210 kit is fine, but you DONT need the bluefin on it - a waste of money imo. put that £300 odd towards a GRS intercooler

thats what comes in the kit, unless i ask them to trade the bluefin in place of a GRS IC

Dont mean to piss on your sale (but it has been for sale for aaaaaaaages iirc) but the only difference between a JCW intercooler and an S intercooler is the plastic cover on top. JCW 'GP' is slightly bigger than the JCW and S intercoolers (by 2 rows)
p.s. I'm in baku - bit warm for me just now when you have to do manual labour haha, last time I was here was January / feb - feckin freezing!
