Hi there, been looking at the above on Pistonheads & want to know more!!

Are these worth the premium over a normal Works car?

What's the difference asides 218bhp & stripped out rear? AP brakes? Any suspension upgrades or anything else?

Would it be idiotic to consider one of them for mild track day use, nothing too heavy just a couple trips a year for open pit sessions / hot marques type thrills up Knockhill? Or would it make more sense to buy a norm cooper S works instead?

Does anyone have one?

Thanks?

These are the ultimate limited edition marque for the end of run R53 Cooper S JCW models.
These are expected to be much sought after for their exclusivity, but, the reality appears that they should command more than a similar aged "normal" JCW but, they are not fetching as much as their owners would like.

Having said that, it is an ideal casual use track car for your expected amount of runs.

Only you can decide if you need 4 seats or not, which is the mitigating factor

How much should we be looking to pay for one then? Theres one down the road for sale 56 plate with 17.5k miles.

This is the one ive seen - http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1171456.htm

We've got access to plenty cars with 4/5 seats so its not a problem.

I would have thought it would have been a better car if he hadnt changed the brakes and the gear lever as they are now not originals.
I would be paying about £15k for a GP of that mileage if I wanted one.
A guy on here recently sold his GP which had about 20oddK on it and he got early £14ks for it I think.

39k's maybe a bit high miles, the convertible we have now only has 25k on a 06 plate. But send the link over anyway! :D

So those brakes are not original, hmmm wonder if its seen some track use before now then!! Why else fit them!?!?

Just get a stock S facelift (2005 and make sure it has an LSD)

spend the many thousands you have saved on choice modifications.

End result - more fun, faster, more 'suprising' and you will have more fun modifying it how you wish.

I have a 283bhp cooper s btw

that AP racing kit is one of the best in the business for the mini and is the better part of 1.5k new and the stock brakes are not up to much imo, i looked at a GP before i chose my normal cooper S then modded that instead

It will have probably been supplied / fitted from lohen who are among the better of the uk mini companies
