heat shield, do i need it????

just wondering if i really need the heat shield/insulation thing on the under side of my bonnet, just swapped from a standard to a S hood and the S 1 didnt have it on, thanks for any help i can get

I took mine off when I fitted the strut brace and didn't notice any difference. It will cut down the engine noise but with a playmini and a K&N filter I wouldn't notice if it did anyway:Whistle:

got a k&N and my S exhuast is getting one balled so shud be the same, cheers m8

i'd be careful. i read in a vw mag recently that a guy fitted a k&n that caused extra heat and ended up burning out his caddy.

Mmmmm.....I find it highly unlikely that an air filter would cause an increase in heat :eek: it only filters the incoming air after all:rolleyes:
