But you drive about in a high powered go cart on roads where 5000 people are killed each year. These are few and far between, and they are amazing, come on!:yes nod:

I always a bit wary as I know a lot of the people who work there do so because they weren't good enough for McDs.

The Big Dipper is really old. Modern rollercoasters thrive on their computerised safety control systems. Just think what this is going to do for the Pleasure Beach's reputation - visitor numbers will drop significantly with a scare like this.
It's therefore in a theme park's best interests to ensure their rollercoasters are extremely safe and you'll generally find that all modern rollercoasters are very very safe indeed. I absolutely love them! Been to Alton Towers and Thorpe Park so far this year and off back to Alton Towers a week on Sunday :D
I've always thought Blackpool's Pleasure Beach was a bit old and shabby and this will indeed stop me going on their older rides, but it definitely won't stop me going on all the modern coasters at Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, etc. They really are very safe - the rollercoaster industry would collapse in a matter of days if they were not.
