Hi Folks,

How are you all? Gosh i havent been on here in a while again! But i'm desperate to get involved in a mini run asap but once i get my new toy hopefully!! :) :)

I have a question to ask regarding the Works Recaro Optional Seats... I understand you can get them in either Leather or Alacantara...

If you get leather then i assume your gonna have to take the leather upgrade first so that the rear seats are leather to match... yeah?

If however you opt for the Alacantara seats what is the best option to have the seats come from the factory? As you cant get Alacantara as a factory option so there will obviously be a mismatch in the material between front and rear seats.... just got no idea what to order so that the rear seats sorta match to the Alacantara bucket seats...... any ideas or thoughts folks?

Any input would be great,
Many thanks,
EJ

you do not have to upgrade to leather ,but ofcoarse the rears will be in fabric ,but as mine are allready dark not much of a prob,I have the leather JCW seat's but would get the alcantara next time ,you have to be so carefull not to scratch the leather.seat's are only dealer fit ,leather or alcantara.:thumbs up:

you could always have your rears trimmed in alcantara to match?

Badwolf i dont suppose its all possible for you to take a picture of your interior is it? I'm just eager to see the seats in action with non-leather rear seats?

And... you say the next you would choose the alacantara...what would you choose for your material on the rears?

What you think of the gear-shift indicator...worth the money?

It would be much appreciated! :)

Is that something the mini garage can do or this an aftermarket type thing?

I wouldn't have thought so. Would be best to try an auto interior specialist.

I reckon on my car I could easily get away with the Recaros in leather or Alcantara and it would still match nicely with the octagon half leather seats

Motorwerks in ABerdeen could sort you out. Seen a few jobs on interior retrims done by them and they are all top notch:thumbs up:

Like the others have said, your best bet's to have them done by a trimmer. You'll probably find the covers on there just now are removable too, so you could potentially switch back to standard down the line.

Thanks guys for all the info.... having extra work done to the seats by an interior specialists is something i could opt to do in the future and i am likely to leave it for the now....

I think that I may opt for the JCW Alcantara front seats and order the car with all black rears, so with the chilli pack they will be coming half leather/cloth... so i guess the half leather element will match the leather parts of the alcantara seats...there will just be a slight mismatch in the cloth...

What you guys think...that the best way to order it?

on my silver R53 JCW I had front JCW seats and OEM dealer fit JCW rear seat covers pity they don't do this option for the R56.

On the JCW Red Cabrio I bought Recaro seats from Drivers @ Glasgow and got them and the standard rears trimmed to match. Cost was less than the JCW's from the dealer. These were very good seats and semi electric ask the Malcolm aka weefossy what he thought of them, anyway something else for you to consider.
