Yes me again, here I go again. Doune hill climb, near Stirling, is on 20th June, its a national event so much bigger, faster and nearer to the cars than Fintray. Its still a field to park in, but its flat.
So is anyone up for a little convoy to it. It costs a couple of quid to get in, I will see if I can get any freebie tickets as I have a freind in Englandshire who comes up to race.
Proberbly start in Dundee and make our way down.

I'm afraid it looks as though I will have to pull out of this one :(.
After my wee trip to the Lakes yesterday I had to promise Tricia that we'd do whatever she wanted next weekend.

Hi Duncan, sorry for not getting back on this one. Life is quite hectic for me just now. I was thinking of leaving from Dundee, assuming anyone else is meeting up, usual place, at 11am ish which would get us there about 12ish.
I could meet you at Gurdbridge at 10.30am, papermill. How does that sound. If you want to get there earlier thats fine by me.

Hmmm... I might be back thru to Dundee in time to leave from there in the morning...
If not, I'll hopefully see you guys there!!
So - still up for the social meet?
I was thinking about The Hungry Horse beside the Airport..
We could meet there after the Hillclimb, and anyone else who wants to come along can meet us there - say about 7? - go for a wee cruise and some photos, then back there for some food and a blether?
how does this sound?

Times fine - see you at 10:30 at Gaurdbridge papermill Chris or if it is only the two of us going it would be quicker & more fun going cross country - could meet at Lundin Links?
Up for the social meet after as well

A couple of comments on this thread - there's another national status event at Doune in September (18th & 19th) - the £6 each gets you up the hill to spectate, it's free to park and wander round the paddock - for the national events it's practice runs on the Saturday, one more practice on the Sunday morning (about 9 ish) then the Competition Runs from 11am. (So this applies this coming weekend also.)
Hope this solves some of your queries!
(I know all this 'cos I used to compete there, just in case anyone's wondering.....)

Great day out at the Doune Hillclimb.
Loads of action and excellent spectator access.
4 Mini Cooper challenge cars in one class.
A very quick 1400cc mini in the 1400 - 1800 saloons and a very tasty 998cc Mk1 Cooper in the classics but it blew it's engine up.
