Supercharger Pulley

Hello

I am going to be fitting a -15% S/C pulley at the weekend.

There are a few other things I`ll be doing, then I`ll get a re-map, question is am I likely to cause any damage to the engine running the smaller pulley without getting the re-map ?

Or will the ECU compensate automatically to the increased pressure ?

I can't speak as any kind of expert, but I think it's pretty common to get a reduced supercharger pulley without the next step of the re-map. A re-map will extract the best out of the engine with the reduced pulley, but not a prerequisite.

I have a 15 % pulley and no re-map and i have had no problems with it so far.

The car will run fine without a remap, the ecu is pretty good at adapting, you will get the full benefit with a remap

Only suggestion i would make is to make sure you have the correct tool for removing the pulley cause any kind of problem will be made worse when you fit the new one.

As the guys have said above, fitting the 15% will do no harm. Your GP already has a decent intercooler and colder plugs so you'll be fine.

Increased boost and the supercharger will be spinning faster so yes, there will be slightly more wear on the engine components.
