Thanks to Angus I was having a look through his webshots link on another thread and found a few pics of my Zeemax Mini:frown::frown::frown:

Way to go spend a load of dosh and ruin a car.

Complete interior re done - big brakes upgrade - complete leda suspension - 260 odd bhp upgrade what was already a JCW Mini (worst thing I ever done was that conversion ruined the car) - several alloys - several exhaust and a flake paint job and a few other things. What was I thinking mid life crisis me thinks.

Did you do a Magazine feature years ago with the Zeemax MINI??.

I remember seeing a feature in GO MINI magazine. (GO MINI was a brill Magazine so much better than Modern MINI)

aye, I remember that car at the Scottish MINI Weekend when Jude's Cooper was there and also my sis had her aero kitted cooper with the AC Schnitzer exhaust on it... ;) That would have been back in 2004 I think...:thumbs up:

Why was it so bad to take on runs?

To be honest, with the exception of the interior/exterior colours and all the chrome bits stuck on it I think it's quite nice. You used to mod cars really nicely Fi :) (your taste has mellowed a bit tho hehe)

with the Zeemax kit on it would often ground over a certain type of bump on the road.

The five stud conversion affected it eventually went back to four stud

Not being the best of or fastest type driver and more the smooth relaxed type the engine upgrade ruined the smoothness of the car.

Waste of money and I will never ever ever mod any car to that extent again.

I remember seeing that car for the first time and thinking.. "here we go, I bet a teenage lad steps out of this thing."

Imagine my surprise to see you and Allan in it. I even wondered if "Mum" had borrowed her sons car to go on the run.

For what it's worth, i actually liked the zeemax kit, not for everyone, but, loweing it as well was probably not the best option.

I remember being parked next to it at Arbroath

:thud: OMG look who has turned up!!!, first long lost Angus re-appears and now Mini Me...

Fiona there is nothing wrong with modding your cars and you do seem to do a great job at it ...now

you said yourself you made a mistake and as people always say, you learn from your mistakes and look like you have since that one so dont give yourself a hard time over the Zeemax. I'm sure I have a picture or two of a couple of your cars I liked, will see if I can find them and put them on here :thumbs up:

Thanks Zimbo but for me our Zeemax Mini represents how not to mod a car ( the fact it sat so low to ground was a pain the the bum) plus all the other stuff and the nail in coffin for us was after the visit to minispeed for the engine upgrade the car was just so harsh. Ended up harsh to look at, harsh to drive.

aye remember you tourchured it to get away after the trade price you gave us for that car and to think how much did I spend on the Cooper S I traded it for was it not one of the most expensive Minis you sold.??? :p:p

Wow that was a lot of work to be unhappy about it……To be fair it’s seriously not my cup of tea. If you had pulled up beside me at the time in my Honda in its standard form I’d have thought – “Ooooo Very nice JWC” instead I’d have thought “Dear lord what were they thinking” :D

A guy a knew was a fantastically talented spray painter and used to buy really nice cars and re-spray them to look absolutely stunning then a few months later he would turn up with this car that looked like it had every Halfords accessory on it. An example was a mint Golf GTI with stunning paint job and next time I seen it had all the windows blacked out, an exhaust the size of a paint pot and the most silly under car lights and massive stickers saying Koni up the side.

It was depressing to see.
