Since I don't know everyone on here thought it would be cool to know what cars everyone has owned prior to mini purchase and what mini's have been owned too.
I have made mine, just noticed though I only buy cars beginning with c (well nearly)

Escort 1 year
Cavalier 18 months
Corsa 2 years
CRX 3 years
Civic 4 years
2 company Astra's 1 year each
Cooper (R50) 2 years
Cooper S (R56) -1 day

Passed test in 1992 aged 19 yrs

Technically the Mini is Laura's. That's her username on here, she's my partner.

Between us we have the A4, the Cooper S, the 106, the quad, and a 6 litre Merc (diesel lorry, horse box :( )

Thank f*ck we got rid of the other 106, the Clio, and the shogun, it was getting ridiculous!

I’m dead boring with the Mini being my second car…………from my Honda Civic I bought in 2000. The problem being a have had company cars and always used the family cars that were mostly Big Volvos. Sometimes I look at the Classic car mags I'd love a Capri.....as I feel I missed out although I was usually a passenger.

Honda Civic 1.4
Mini Cooper (Current)

Johns list is impressive but My friend would trump him. He is ten years older than me and has Driven everything. We were round his house a few of us as we grew up together and since he has known his wife of about ten years she can account for 40 plus but when we started and you forget so many I think we got to something stupid like over 100

Recently he had a new Range Rover Vogue, 54 plate M5 convertible, two jags, some people carrier he uses for the dogs and this you will love. A split new Mini Cooper S when it was bought ( 54 plate) he bought for his wife to learn to drive, she did not learn to drive so it sits in a garage waiting on his daughter to turn seventeen in a few years. Back in the 80’s and 90’s he used to swap his car every month or so it seemed.

My other friend has had about 38 cars but since the birth of his son he has kept cars longer with his current VW being with him for four years. Although right now he has the VW estate, an old Land rover, a new Shape VW beetle and one of those Motorhomes On his drive……

Hmmmm, my list seems pretty boring compared to some :

1990 Rover Mini Racing Green :D
1989 Toyota MR2 AW11
2000 Toyota MR2 Roadster (surprisingly good round KH)
1993 Nissan Pulsar GTiR (even better round KH - 310hp & 290lb/ft )
2005 Seat Ibiza Cupra TDi - remapped torquemeister commuter
1994 Toyota Celica GT4 WRC (~330hp & 290lb/ft but not as much fun as the Datsun :moonie:)
2007 VW Passat Sport TDi 170 - current commuter

Also had a 2008 Aprilia RS125

The Cooper S doesn't feature in my list as it's my better half that's got her name on the V5.

John...are you restoring/selling some of your classics?? Great collection :thumbs up:

Chris, your Imp is stunning

C.Noble

My list is gonna look distinctly boring.... and I know I have owned some serious piles of poo, but its usually cos I have been spending too much time on a car that races round in circles quickly to worry about my own road car.

Passed test in March 95 (had 3 cars before I passed my test, but I wont count them!!)

1983 Nova 1.0  (feel the power of 48 wild horses!!)
1986 Cavalier Commander 1.6
1987 Cavalier 1.6 LX (used, abused then pillaged for its engine)
1985 Carlton CD 2.2
1990 Senator 2.5 :yes nod:
1984 Polo 1.0  (cos the Senator cost to much to run to work!!)
1992 Astra Belmont SXi 1.8 :yes nod: (cos it was costing too much to run 2 cars)
1991 Cavalier 2.0 (cos I thought I should grow up)
1991 Senator 3.0 24v :thumbs up: (cos I got bored of being grown up!)
1993 Proton 1.3  (down to earth with a bang... and the only car thus far I have ever been caught speeding in :argh:! who would of thought they could do 81mph! :hand:)

1993 Proton 1.3  (another one... only this one had power steering!)
1986 Cavalier SRi 130 :yes nod: (missing being 18 again)
1993 Sierra Sapphire 2.0  (missed RWD)
2001 Skoda pick up  (yes the screaming yellow thing with yellow wheels)
1998 Transit Van (the old faithfull that has pulled half the current field of race MINIs!)
1994 Carlton 2.0 (still missed RWD)
2006 Mitsubishi Grandis (company car)
2006 Mitsubishi Grandis (company car 5 months later)
2006 Mitsubishi Grandis (company car 3 months later... Mitsubishi were beginning to hate me by this point!)
2007 Mitsubishi Outlander (Screwed the head on this one... managed to keep it for 8 months before it run out of miles)
2000 Passat 1.9 TDi PD :yes nod:

Oh... And somwhere along the line, I managed to pick up a 1979 Victor 2300 GLS :thumbs up: (or a VX2300GLS as they started calling them at the end of production) and it is currently waiting the 'Big Bertha' treatment!

So I make it 22 cars in 14 years of driving.

Spent far too much time and money changing cars in the past. Most regret getting rid of the Freelander and my first MINI (which was also my longest kept car at 22 months). I intend to keep the 500 for 3 years at least though. After that I'll either go for another MINI, a Fiesta or a Skoda Superb...

Not sure I've posted this before but here's my new car which replaced the Civic.

Its already had a audio transplant with the standard headunit replaced with a Pioneer Reference Series Headunit running a full active setup through two Vibe Amps one 4 channel and one bridged two channel amp. The front components are again Pioneer Reference Series Series and the rear sub is a Pioneer Reference Series which normally costs a ridiculous amount of money but I got lucky with a demo unit.

The sound is top draw stuff and because the Audi is so well built I've been told I could compete at car audio shows, but I probably won't.

Nice looking car, but have you changed jobs to work in the folicle chopping industry? :D:D

My list:
E reg Ford Escort Ghia (lovely velour seats...)
N reg VW Golf GTi
51 Mini Cooper
53 Mini Cooper S (ah, my favourite car!)
2004 BMW 318ci (I was a muppet for buying this!)
2005 BMW 320ci (but this is much more like it)

Considering the amount of time I spend looking at cars, this list is pathetic. I had the Escort for years while I was at Uni, had an awesome stereo in it. Had the GTi for just shy of three years - cracking car but was quite knackered when I got rid of it, too slow though. The Cooper I had for a couple of years before I got an S which I adored. Would love another but just can't get away with it anymore as I need the room! I kept the first 3 for as little as possible, but had the current one for over 2 years now and done over 50K in it, just does everything I want (but it's also too slow, just sounds good :D). Next stop will (if I can swing it) be an Alpina D3 touring, due later this year.

Moved from my Gallery Page

Found some pics of my Citroen Saxo VTS 16v that i owned back in 99. Excuse the quality as these are scanned from original hardcopy photos..

I had it tuned and lowered 50mm by GMC Motorsport in Newton Stewart, Dumfries in Scotland and had a custom Bridge Of Weir Cream/Black mix leather interior installed along with the VTS number plate and single wiper conversion - (never again- looked good but rubbish in the rain)

I miss this wee car!!!

Craig when my ex wrote off the Manta it was insured TPFT , so i got nothing back on insurance . The Bluebird was so smooth to drive , but a bit of a old mans car.
