I just got a quote out of interest on a Cooper S and i am still over £2k!:ragin:

But then i tried putting myself as the main driver on our Coop and it's £400 cheaper than having my mum as a main driver. She hasn't crashed, claimed etc. and I haven't had any extra no claims bonuses or anything. Is it me or is that wierd?

Can we end our current policy and change?

When i went to cancel my policy (husband to be's one is cheaper and you cant have two insurance policys on the one car) i was told that i would have to pay up until the end of my policy, i put mine on hold and a month before it was due to be cancelled i put my insurance on my sisters car (she has a 1.4 clio) and ran it on that until i cancelled it with no extra charges at the end of the policy

I'm not sure how this works but I've come across it before. Sons have had me down as second driver and it made quite a difference to their quotes. BUT when I was down as the main driver it was even cheaper. Were the quotes with the same company for the same car?
Best bit about the offer is that you can start building up your no claims. One of my sons didnt do that and later when he could afford the powerful car he paid for it big time. Youngest son is paying an arm and a leg for his insurance. He refused to put my name on it in a fit of pique because I didnt throw specy's keys at him when he got his licence - as if!

All the Cooper quotes were done on our car with our reg. We are with quinn but admiral were exactly the same price when we took our policy out, and admiral are now £400 cheaper!

Baz i wish mine comes down to that next year. You are paying less than my 20yr old mate in his standard N reg Polo

I've just received my quote through for the Punto (2nd policy, as I have one for the MINI also). All my 15+years no claims are on the MINI via Adrian Flux and with my fairly minor mods I'm £250ish, fully comp. I took out a second policy with AF on the Punto & this year they quoted £316  with 1 years no claims. A quick vist to those 'Confused' folks & I've just been quoted £180 fully comp with Tesco. As always it's good to shop around & if I was a young pup I would try to start my own policy as soon as I could so as to start building a my no claims bonus.
